Seven lawyers' warrant revoked since 2000, Justice Minister says

Seven lawyers have had their warrant revoked or suspended since 2000, according to data tabled in parliament on Monday by Justice Minister Owen Bonnici.

Bonnici was responding to a parliamentary question by government whip Byron Camilleri, who asked the minister for a complete list of lawyers who have had their warrants revoked, every year, since 2000.

According to the minister’s reply, all instances of a warrant being revoked occurred between 2005 and 2011.

In 2005, three lawyers had their warrant revoked or suspended, while one lawyer ever year between 2008 and 2011 found themselves in the same position.
