6.0 'quake hits N. Chile

A powerful magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit northern Chile at 0713 GMT this morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The teremor was centred 20 miles west (32 Kms) northwest of Antofagasta, Chile, at a depth of 30.8 miles (50 Kms), USGS reported.
