Vittoriosa defeat Hibernians to register first win

Vittoriosa registered their first win this season in the BOV Premier League as they defeated Hibernians 2-0. Vittoriosa are still st the bottom of the table, but this win is a sign of improvement. 

Vittoriosa played a much better match and deserved the win. Hibernians were disappointing and goalkeeper Mario Muscat saved them further blushes.

Hibernians actually had the first chance to get on the scoreboard when they were awarded a penalty shot. Andrew Cohen surprisingly shot high and did not get the goal.

In the second half Vittoriosa took the lead on the 47thminute. A cross from Leighton Grech hit two Hibernian players to end up at the back of their own net. Hibernians Matthew Gauci was the last player to touch the ball and it ended up being a own goal. Vittoriosa were ahead 1-0.

Vittoriosa started to gain confidence and after numerous attempts on goal, the second arrived on the 74th minute. Carlos Compagnoli passed to Anthony Ewurum who had his powerful shot hit the back of the net.
