Balzan keep marching on

Balzan remain unbeaten after goals from Paul Fenech, Bojan Kaljevic and Matteo Piciollo earned Oliver Spiteri’s side a 3-1 win over Gżira Utd.

Balzan took the lead on the 33rd minute when Bojan Kaljevic delivered the ball towards Paul Fenech who sent a header past Jurgen Borg.

The current league leaders doubled the score on the 41st minute. Lydon Micallef sent a cross inside the penalty area that was met by Kaljevic. The Montenegrin kept calm and finished inside the net.

 Gżira managed to reduce the score on the 76th minute. From Liliu’s cross, Joceano da Silva Santos fired a header that ended up behind Janjusevic.

Despite this goal, Balzan managed to put the game beyond doubt on the 90th minute after Matteo Piciollo went inside the penalty area before firing past substitute goalkeeper Kyle Gerada.

Lydon Micallef of Balzan was voted as the BOV player of the match.
