Hibernians held by Gżira

On the 17th minute, Bjorn Kristensen delivered the ball towards Jorginho who fired at goal; however, Jurgen Borg was alert and saved his effort. Gżira’s defence failed to clear and the ball fell for Jackson Lima whose shot was well saved by Borg.

Gżira managed to go ahead on the 28th minute. Avila Perez sent a through ball towards Costa Morais who finished past Borg.

Hibs tried to hit back and had a good opportunity ten minutes later. From a free kick, Jorginho saw his effort ending up centimetres wide of the post.

Mark Miller’s side managed to equalise five minutes into the second half. Jurgen Degabriele received the ball from Jorginho and fired a strong shot that gave Borg no chance.

Hibernians kept pushing forward and had another good opportunity on the 62nd minute when Johann Bezzina found Andrew Cohen whose shot hit the side netting.

Five minutes from time, Hibernians had another chance to claim the three points. Andrew Cohen’s cross found Degabriele in an ideal position, but the Maltese international striker saw his effort ending up in Borg’s hand.
