Mosta earned three vital points after securing a 2-1 win over Sliema Wanderers.

Mosta went ahead on the 16th minute. Chinatu Onwudinjo sent a cross in the direction of Njongo Priso who finished inside the net.

Sliema equalised on the 38th minute. Yenz Cini fouled Jean Paul Farrugia inside the penalty area and the referee ordered a penalty. From the elven metres mark, Alex Muscat made no mistake.

On the 45th minute, the Wanderers were close to go ahead for the first time in the match after Temile’s header was cleared off the goal line by Onwudinjo.

However, Mosta scored the winning goal on the 51st minute. Zachary Brincat went on the right side of the penalty area and fired a strong shot that gave Glenn Zammit no chance.

In the additional time given by the referee, Adrian Caruana of Mosta received his marching orders after receiving his second yellow card.
