Balzan are back at the top of the table after a fine win over bottom placed Pembroke Athleta.

Balzan went ahead after eleven minutes. Alan Da Silva Souza went on the left side and hit a shot past Fredrick Tabone.

Pembroke equalised on the 18th minute. From a corner, Darren Falzan sent a cross inside the penalty area towards Go Nagoka who finished inside the net.

Oliver Spiteri’s side regained the lead on the 42nd minute. Da Silva Souza received a pass inside the penalty area and placed the ball inside the net.

Balzan increased the margin of the score on the 60th minute. Da Silva Souza went past three defenders before finishing inside the net once more.

Five minutes later, Balzan scored again. Abdelkarim Nafti sent Bojan Kaljevic through and the striker hit a shot past Tabone.

Balzan scored their fifth goal on the 74th minute. Lydon Micallef sent Matteo Piciollo through and the latter hit a powerful drive past Tabone.

Pembroke scored a consolation goal on the 83rd minute. From a free kick, Darren Falzon sent a shot that gave Christian Cassar no chance.
