Valletta went ahead on the 37th minute. Luke Montebello went on the right flank and sent a through ball towards Maxi Velasco. The Argentine went inside the penalty area and placed the ball past Yenz Cini.

The Citizens doubled the score on the 43rd minute. Santiago Malano delivered the ball towards Montebello whose effort ended up inside the net.

Paul Zammit’s side increased the margin of the score on the 68th minute. Uchenna Calistus Umeh sent a cross inside the penalty area towards Velasco who slotted the ball home.

Valletta made sure of the three points on the 83rd minute. Substitute Michael Mifsud sent a pass towards Montebello and the Valletta striker scored from close range.
