Birkirkara broke the deadlock after just 3 minutes. Maurizio Vella delivered the ball towards Luke Montebello who finished past Marko Jovicic.

Hibernians equalised two minutes from half-time. Jake Grech passed the ball towards Tiago Fonseco whose effort gave Andrew Hogg no chance.

The Stripes regained the lead two minutes into the second half. Nemanja Radojevic floored Jorge Da Silva Pereira inside the penalty area and the referee pointed towards the spot. Clayton Failla stepped up and converted.

Stefano Sanderra’s men drew level again on the 84th minute. Sahanek’s delivery was met by Taylon Marcolino who headed the ball home.

Hibernians scored the winning goal three minutes later. From a corner, Sahanek’s cross was met by Andrei Agius whose effort went past Hogg.
