NIGHTLIFE FRIDAYS Gianpula Fridays 17 nights of partying (starting from May 27) featuring DJs Pierre Cordina, Tony Tony, Clayton J, JJoy, Ruby, Joseph Armani, Toby, MyKill and Carl Bee at the Main Room and Groove Gardens of Gianpula, limits of Rabat from 23:00 till 04:00. Entrance is at €6. FRIDAYS Bridge Bar Jazz Nights Live jazz every Friday night at Bridge Bar, by Victoria Gate, Valletta from 21:00. Line up of locally established jazz musicians includes Marc Galea, Lawrie Simpson, Walter Vella, Effie Azzopardi and Eric Santucci. The schedule will also include some foreign surprises, visiting sporadically through the summer. JUNE 10 Mish Mash Party Following the gig by Kesang Marstrand, Danjeli will be playing an eclectic set at Coach and Horses, Msida from 22:30. JUNE 25 Panslavia A night of Slavic music from every genre – folk, punk, rock, pop – spun by DJ Barbara Stramska at Coach and Horses, Valley Road, Msida from 21:30. MUSIC JUNE 9-11 Kesang Marstrand (US) US-based, Tibetan-Danish born musician will be playing two shows at Coach and Horses, Valley Road, Msida from 20:00. Entrance is at €4. JUNE 10-12 Ghanafest A concert of Mediterranean folksong at Argotti Gardens, Floriana from 19:00. Featuring local musicians as well as bands from Sicily, Turkey and Iran. Tickets are at €3, and €7 for a three day block ticket available at the door. JUNE 11 Norm Rejection CD launch The metal band will be launching their new CD ‘Belligerent’ at Voice of a Generation, Ball Street, Paceville. They will be supported by doom metal band Victims of Creation. Doors open at 21:00. Entrance is at €7, including CD. THEATRE TONIGHT The Imaginary Invalid A Nonsuch Players production of the Moliere play at the Carmelite Priory, Mdina at 22:00. In aid of the Equal Partners Foundation. TONIGHT AND JUNE 10-12, 17-19 You’ve Got Hate Mail Mellow Drama production of the Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore comedy at St James Cavalier. Cast includes John Montanaro, Julia Calvert, Wesley Ellul, Pia Zammit and Jo Caruana. Directed by James Calvert. All shows start at 20:00. Additionally there will be two special late night shows on 11 and 18 June at 22:00. Tickets for the opening weekend cost €10 while tickets for all other performances cost €15. TONIGHT AND JUNE 10, 25 The Importance of Being Earnest A live transmission of Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy, screened at the St James Cavalier Cinema from the American Airlines Theatre in Broadway at 20:00 on June 2, 10 and 25 and 19:00 at June 5. EXHIBITIONS JUNE 10, 11 No Exclusions A collaborative mosaic of photographs, exhibited in Republic Street, Valletta as part of the 2010 European Year for the Combating of Poverty and Social Exclusion. UNTIL JUNE 12 Realism Revisited Exhibition at Auberge de France, Birgu featuring works by Maria Froman, Madeleine Gera, Matthew F. Cassar and Karl Froman amongst others. Organised in collaboration with Birgu Local Council. FESTIVAL TODAY Earth Garden The latest edition of the outdoor nature-themed festival will take place at The National Park in Ta’ Qali. Entrance to the venue – which includes food and craft stalls and more – is free.
