Screening of the Kenneth Branagh-starring, Aborigine-themed Australian drama at ICT – Engineering Courtyard (cp2), 21:00.

AUGUST 9
‘A chi questo? il rancio nel campo di Bergen’
Performance by Valeria Bianchi & Co. at Atriju Vassalli, University Campus, 21:00, centred around a narrative which brings together anecdotes linked to food and to the everyday life in the prison camps for interned Italian military personnel during WW II. The performance will be in Italian with an English synopsis available with the programme.

AUGUST 10
Meet the Author – David Lodge
Reading by the popular British author David Lodge at Atriju Vassalli, University Campus, 21:00. A former Professor of English Literature and literary critic, Lodge has since become famous for his ‘campus comedies’ Changing Places, Small World, and Nice Work, published in the 80s – the latter two were adapted for television. His more recent works include Deaf Sentence and A Man of Parts – a fictionalised account of the life of HG Wells.

AUGUST 12
Finale – rm2Coltrane & Caterina/The Pursuit of Transcendence
Italian artists Biancamaria Stanzani Ghedini and Massimo de Majo will conclude this edition of Evening On Campus at Atriju Vassalli, University Campus, 21:00, presenting the second production of their ‘reading mediterraneo’ series.

Gianpula Fridays
17 nights of partying (starting from May 27) featuring DJs Pierre Cordina, Tony Tony, Clayton J, JJoy, Ruby, Joseph Armani, Toby, MyKill and Carl Bee at the Main Room and Groove Gardens of Gianpula, limits of Rabat from 23:00 till 04:00. Entrance is at €6.
FRIDAYS
Bridge Bar Jazz Nights
Live jazz every Friday night at Bridge Bar, by Victoria Gate, Valletta from 21:00. Line up of locally established jazz musicians includes Marc Galea, Lawrie Simpson, Walter Vella, Effie Azzopardi and Eric Santucci. The schedule will also include some foreign surprises, visiting sporadically through the summer.

David Guetta at the Open Air Special ‘11
Fresh Events hosts a night with the hugely popular French DJ at MFCC, Ta’ Qali from 20:00. General entrance fee is at €35/€40, €60 Gold Circle tickets are available only through Ice Watch outlets. Primal Squawk
The DJ duo will be playing at Coach and Horses, Valley Road, Msida from 21:30, with an extremely bizarre music collection ranging from cheesy 80s classics to smoothe blues/jazz to gypsy funk, indie pop, reggae and soul. Entrance is at €1, which will go towards the GetUp StandUp organisation.

A collaborative writing/photography exhibition by Miriam Calleja and Kurt Paris at The Palace Hotel, Sliema.

Preti 10x10
An exhibition of ten works by Italian artists from Calabria inspired by the works of Mattia Preti and purposely produced for this exhibition at The Heritage Malta Area Exhibition Hall, The Citadel, Victoria, Gozo. Entrance is free. Opening Hours: Mondays-Fridays: 08:00-16:00, Saturdays: 08:00-12:00.
