Line up of locally established jazz musicians includes Marc Galea, Lawrie Simpson, Walter Vella, Effie Azzopardi and Eric Santucci. MUSIC SEPTEMBER 16 Bark Bark Disco Live performance by the one-man indie project from Ian Schranz (Beangrowers) at Coach and Horses, Valley Road, Msida from 21:00. With Daniel from nosnow/noalps on guitar and Rebecca from Stolen Creep on drums. SEPTEMBER 17 Weeping Silence and The Shiver Metal doom metal band Weeping Silence will be joined by their Italian counterparts The Shiver at V-Gen, Ball Street, Paceville from 21:00. SEPTEMBER 30 Concerto per l’Unità d’Italia Concert of operatic music by Italian composers Bellini, Donizetti, Puccini, Catalani and Verdi at the Manoel Theatre at 20:00. The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and well-known soprano Lucia Aliberti perform under the baton of the theatre’s Music Director Brian Schembri. The concert is being held in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy and the Istituto Culturale Italiano. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 25 The Papal Corpus Christi Procession during the reign of Pope Gregory XVI An exhibition of illustrations and memorabilia at St John’s Hall Cittadella Centre for Culture and the Arts related to this annual procession by Salvatore Busuttil (artist of Gozitan origin) between 1837 and 1839. UNTIL OCTOBER 9 Malta Photographic Society Annual Exhibition Exhibition at the Upper Galleries of St James Cavalier, Valletta, showcasing some of the best photographs produced by Maltese Photographers during the past year. No less than 150 printed images in both colour and monochrome format as well as over 100 photographs in digital projected image format are on display. THEATRE SEPTEMBER 15, 17, 23, OCTOBER 2 One Man, Two Guvnors Live transmission, from London’s National Theatre, of the critically acclaimed Richard Bean play at St James Cavalier Cinema, Valletta at 20:00.
