The pages of Strait Street

To mark the closing of the Malta Arts Festival’s Spaces | spazji project, a publication encompassing the exhibition will be launched on July 30 at 187, Strait Street, Valletta.

This publication will feature the works by the five participating artists: Fabrizio Ellul, Sean Gabriel Ellul, Anton Grech, Ruth Bianco and James Micallef Grimaud.
The works range from painting to sculpture, collage works to multi-media installations. The works have been specifically created for, adapted to or re-worked with this project in mind, hence why the book is launched as the exhibition closes.
The publication will also include a collection of literary works which were directly inspired by and which revolve around the themes of space and of Strait Street, as proposed in this visual art project.
Readings by the following authors will be in session on the night: Immanuel Mifsud, Maria Grech Ganado, Simone Inguanez, Pierre J. Mejlak, Clare Azzopardi and Margaret Andrews.
The finissage and publication launch will kick off at 19:30. Entrance is free of charge.

The festival is supported by Marsovin, HSBC, Valletta and Floriana Local Councils, Malta Post, Hotel Phoenicia and CityPro and functions within the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts in collaboration with the Parliamentary Secretariat for Tourism, the Environment and Culture. www.maltaartsfestival.com.
