Angelina Jolie ‘wants to speak Maltese’

Actress-director of Gozo-filmed By the Sea Angelina Jolie has asked for a Maltese translator because she “wants to speak with the locals in their own language”.

As part of the ongoing coverage of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s stay in Gozo – the newlywed Hollywood couple are filming By the Sea – People report that Jolie – star and director of the 70s-set drama – is interested in learning the Maltese language.

Quoting an unnamed source, People say that Jolie, “has asked for a Maltese translator because she wants to speak with the locals in their own language. How nice she is!”

The report also notes that the couple were seen spending some down-time with their six children – Shiloh, Vivienne, Zahara, Maddox, Pax and Knox – at Jack’s Bar and Grill Bowling.

An onlooker told the magazine that, “they laughed and they played around. They looked relaxed like every other family on Sunday – they were friendly with everyone and smiling”.

It was also recently reported that Jolie has given her new husband a rare watch worth nearly £2 million pounds. According to The Daily Mirror, the 1952 Patek Philippe platinum chronometer was taken to a small shop by a friend to be inscribed with the words ‘To Roly from Nessa’ – the names of Pitt and Jolie’s characters in By the Sea.
