Gary Coleman death ruled as an accident

US authorities have ruled the death of Diff’rent strokes actor Gary Coleman was an accident, after an autopsy found that the actor died of natural causes.

Coleman, who appeared in Diff'rent Strokes from 1978 to 1986, accidentally fell at his home in May, and suffered a brain hemorrhage. He was taken off life support and died two days later.

Salt Lake City Police chief Dennis Howard said the state medical examiner’s conclusions brought the police investigation to an end. He added the findings matched the evidence police found at Coleman’s home in Santaquin.

Since the actor’s death there has been a legal dispute between his ex-wife and ex-girlfriend. Ex-wife Shannan Price petitioned the Utah courts to recognise her common-law relationship with Coleman from the date of their 2008 divorce, until his death shortly after.

Former girlfriend Anna Gray said the star had awarded Gray his estate in a 2005 will. On the other hand, Price said that Coleman left a handwritten note the day after their 2007 marriage, naming her as his sole heir.

The case is still ongoing.
