Lionel Richie concert postponed to 2027

The Lionel Richie concert scheduled to take place in Malta on 18 August 2026 has been postponed to a new date in 2027, Malta Shows has announced.

The new concert date is expected to be confirmed by 31 October 2026.

The postponement comes just months after it was announced that the American music icon would perform in Malta as part of his Say Hello To The Hits tour, marking his first-ever concert on the island.

In a statement on Facebook, Malta Shows said the decision was taken "due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control".

"All ticketholders have received an email with instructions on how to request a refund," the organisers said, adding that anyone experiencing difficulties with the refund form should contact the company via email.

Fans who choose not to request a refund will automatically have their tickets transferred to the rescheduled concert once the new date is announced.

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and understanding. Further updates will be shared as soon as possible."

The concert had been announced earlier this year and was set to see the Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe-winning singer perform a catalogue of hits spanning several decades, including Hello, All Night Long, Easy and Dancing on the Ceiling.
