The performance is scheduled to take place at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta' Qali on 18 December

Tenor Joseph Calleja will headline a festive Christmas concert on Friday, 18 December 2026, accompanied by Italian singer-songwriter Claudio Baglioni and classical crossover soprano Sarah Brightman.

The performance is scheduled to take place at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta' Qali.

The three vocalists will be accompanied by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the musical direction of Mro Paul Bateman, alongside Mro Adriano Pennino and Mro Kevin Abela.

The programme will also feature the BOV Joseph Calleja Children's Choir, led by soprano Gillian Zammit. In a statement regarding the announcement, Calleja noted that the event aims to bring audiences together through music during the holiday season.

The event marks Claudio Baglioni's return to Malta following his 2007 Ciao O'Scià concert at the Valletta Waterfront, which drew an audience exceeding 100,000 people. Baglioni's six-decade career includes over 60 million record sales globally.

Sarah Brightman, who originated the role of Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera and recently starred in the international tour of Sunset Boulevard, brings a career recording total of 35 million units sold worldwide. Calleja has maintained an international operatic career spanning over two decades.

The concert is organised by greatt, with official support from VisitMalta, Festivals Malta, and Bank of Valletta. Ticket sales are scheduled to open on Sunday, 25 October 2026, at 12:00hrs via the event platform eventworks.mt.
