New internet subscribers choose Melita

Total internet subscriptions in Malta grow by almost 2,000 between January and March of this year and well over 8,000 (6.3%) over the previous year.

Statistics published by the Malta Communications Authority revealed that in the first three months of this year, more than three out of every four new internet subscribers have chosen Melita as their internet service provider.

"Customers opting for Melita's internet benefitted from speeds of at least 15 Megabits on standalone basis or 30Megabits when bundled with other products. Melita is also registering a rapid increase in subscriptions for internet connections with speeds of at least 30 Megabits," the company said in a statement.

Melita has also recently launched a summer promotional offer for customers wishing to switch to its high speed Fibre Powered internet. "New subscribers joining Melita's broadband service until the end of July get a free upgrade from 15 Megabits per second to 30 Megabits per second for a three month period," Melita said.

Melita's internet is recognised by independent international site www.netindex.com as the fastest internet in Malta, showing customers get internet speeds as advertised in more than 96% of tests.
