Gozo has been ranked as the tenth under-the-radar places in the world that everyone must visit, in a list compiled by the UK Business Insider.

The popular news website describes the tiny island as “Malta’s little-known neighbor…an island strewn with temples, salt pans and picturesque beaches”.

Tourism minister Edward Zammit Lewis on Facebook toasted the announcement, expressing his pride at Gozo “achieving positive results overseas”.

The other nine places to make the Business Insider’s cut in the top ten are Oviedo (Spain), Monsaraz (Portugal), Lukomir (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Banos (Ecuadaor), Mani (Greece), Rurrenabaque (Bolivia), Rummu (Estonia), Copper Canyon (Mexico), and Huacachina (Peru).
