Budget 2027 | €1,000 super bonus in your hands by March
Workers will receive tax-free payments ranging from €500 to €1,000 by March 2027, depending on their income in 2025
Eligible workers will receive a tax-free superbonus of up to €1,000 by the end of March 2027, with payments calculated according to their income in 2025.
The measure will apply to self-employed individuals, pensioners who continue working, and part-time employees.
During the last general election, the Labour Party pledged to introduce the €1,000 super bonus, a measure estimated to cost the public purse around €200 million annually.
The measure has been the subject of speculation in recent months, amid uncertainty over whether it would be included in the 2027 Budget.
Finance Minister Clyde Caruana announced that, within the first three months of 2027, government will be sending out €1,000 to workers who earned €12,000 or more in 2025.
Your 2025 income and your super bonus

Those earning between €11,000 and €11,999 will receive €925, while those earning between €10,000 and €10,999 will receive €875.
Workers earning between €9,000 and €9,999 will receive €800, while those earning between €8,000 and €8,999 will receive €725.
Meanwhile, those earning between €7,000 and €7,999 will receive €650, dropping to €575 for those earning between €6,000 and €6,999.
The lowest payment of €500 will go to those whose employment income ranged between €2,000 and €5,999.
