Man dies after crashing cement mixer into electricity pole

A 60-year-old man died after crashing a cement mixer into an electricity pole.

The accident happened at around 6pm in Triq tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi. 

Preliminary investigations suggest that the man, who is from Żebbuġ, crashed into the pole while driving. 

The Civil Protection Department arrived on the scene along with a medical team, but the driver was already certified dead.

Magistrate Joe Mifsud was informed of the accident and has launched an inquiry. 

Police investigations are still ongoing.
