Two motorcyclists hospitalised in separate accidents

The motorcyclists were both struck by cars on Thursday morning

Two motorcyclists were grievously injured in separate accidents on Thursday.

The first accident happened at around 9:15am in Triq Andrea Debono, Naxxar. 

Police say that there was a collision occured between a Toyota Auris driven by a 40-year-old woman and a Peugeot Django motorcycle driven by a 42-year-old man.

The second accident happened minutes later at 9:50am in Regional Road, Santa Venera. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident involved a Nissan car driven by a 71-year-old woman and a Kawasaki motorcycle driven by a 35-year-old man.

Medical teams assisted both victims before they were taken to hospital where they were later certified as having suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
