Three people, including a five-year-old girl, were hospitalised on Thursday after being injured in two separate traffic accidents in Marasakala and Hamrun.

The first accident occurred at around 4:15pm, when a 40-year-old woman crashed her Peugeot 3008 into a wall at Triq id-Daħla ta’ San Tumas in Marsaskala. A five-year-old girl was in the car.

Members of the Civil Protection assisted the accident victims, while a medical team provided initial treatment. They were later taken to Mater Dei Hospital where the girl was certified to have suffered grievous injuries, while the woman was certified with serious injuries.

Later on Thursday, at 6:15pm, a 65-year-old woman from St Paul’s Bay suffered grievous injuries after being hit by a Toyota Vitz on Triq Mountbatten, Ħamrun.

Initial investigations show that the car was driven by a 41-year-old man from Żabbar.

The woman was treated by a medical team and then rushed to hospital.

Police investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
