Police arrest tourists who filmed themselves driving recklessly

Police have arrested two men who posted videos of themselves driving recklessly on social media.

The men, who are German tourists aged 41 and 39 years old, were identified by the police through the footage they uploaded on social media, as police said that investigations began immediately after they received the video.

The tourists were identified through CCTV footage that captured the vehicle, and the driver's location was known as he was seen entering an establishment in St Julian's. Police arrived at the scene and found two individuals matching the description of the driver and the person filming, as the video was found on one of the suspects' mobile phone.

Police clarified that the person filming the reckless driver was arrested on the basis of legal changes introduced last March, which prohibits the sharing of material showing people driving irresponsibly.

The pair are expected to be arraigned under arrest.
