Three women arrested after cocaine bust

Three women have been arrested following a drug bust in Qrendi, amounting to around €13,000

Three women have been arrested in connection with alleged drug trafficking from a residence in Qrendi.

On Sunday at around 1pm, police, through a warrant from the Court, carried out a raid on the residence.

From the search, around 100g of a substance, allegedly cocaine, were found with a market value of approximately €13,000. Various items related to drug trafficking were also seized from the scene, as well as a number of mobile phones.

The arrested persons, who are 40 years old from Qrendi, 35 years old from Valletta and 28 years old also from Valletta, were taken to the Floriana Police lock-up.

The 35-year-old woman is expected to appear in Court on Monday at noon, before Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici LL.D., charged with cocaine trafficking as well as violating a number of Court conditions in relation to her release from arrest.

Investigations are still ongoing in regards to the other two women.
