Two in critical condition following accident involving flares

A 43-year-old woman is in critical condition after an accident involving flares.

Police say that at around noon, they were informed of an incident in Triq il-Kbira San Ġużepp, Santa Venera.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the woman, who lives in Birkirkara, as well as a 12-year-old boy, suffered injuries while they were in a vehicle.

The boy was grievously injured.

The pair were aided by a medical team before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where the woman was certified as having sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
