Police arrest four men in separate drug-related operations

Two men were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking in Paceville, while another two were arrested over the cultivation of 50 cannabis plants

Four men were arrested in separate drug-related police operations in St Julian’s and Naxxar.

On Sunday night, police were informed of suspected drug trafficking in Triq San Ġorġ, St Julian’s in the heart of Paceville.

Police identified a 24-year-old and a 30-year-old man on the scene, as they were both Somalian nationals. Searches revealed that they were allegedly carrying around 30 small packets of cocaine, heroin, and cannabis.

On Monday morning, police arrested a 27-year-old man from Holland and a 31-year-old man from Sweden.

The arrests came after a raid on their home in Triq it-Torri tal-Kaptan, Naxxar. Police found 50 cannabis plants and cannabis resin, as well as items used for the cultivation of the plants.

The arrests are separate and had nothing to do with each other.

All four suspects are being held at Police HQ in Floriana. They are expected to be arraigned later on Tuesday.
