Two workers grievously injured after falling down shaft

Two men suffered grievous injuries after falling down an apartment shaft while working.

The accident happened at around 2:30pm in Triq l-Aħmar, Marsaskala.

Preliminary investigations suggest that two Syrian men aged 18 and 26 fell down the shaft while they were working.

The Civil Protection Department (CPD) was called on site and the two were aided by a medical team before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

They were later certified as having sustained grievous injuries.

Police investigations and OHSA investigations are ongoing.
