Missing man, Eusebio Abela, found dead

Eusebio Abela, the 57-year-old man reported missing on Sunday morning, has been found dead in a field in the outskirts of Bulebel, police confirmed.

In an updated statement, the police said that at around 5:30pm, while intensive searches for the man were underway, a lifeless person was spotted in a field on the outskirts of Bulebel.

It was later confirmed that this was Eusebio Abela, who was unfortunately certified dead on the spot.

The involvement of third parties is being excluded.

Abela had earlier been reported missing to the police after being last seen in the Bulebel area, wearing shorts and a grey top with red stripes.

CCTV footage of the man had been released by the police, who had appealed to the public to come forward with any information regarding his whereabouts.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has been informed and has opened an inquiry, while police investigations remain ongoing.
