Man greviously injured after being hit by car in Bormla
Police say the incident happened at around 11:30am with the victim suffering grevious injuries
A man has been hospitalised with grievous injuries after being struck by a car in Triq Hanover, Bormla
Police say they were alerted to the scene at around 11:30am following reports that a person had sustained injuries.
Officers who arrived on site found that the victim, a 49-year-old from St. paul’s Bay had been hit by a Peugeot, whose driver fled the scene immediately afterwards.
The injured man was treated by a medical team before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was certified as having suffered serious injuries.
Intensive police investigations led, a short time later, to the discovery of the car involved in Triq San Ġorġ, Bormla.
A 37-year-old man from Bormla was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.
Police investigations into the case remain ongoing as authorities work to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the collision.
