Truck driver who died after colliding with trailer identified as Mohammed Abdul Jawad

Mohammed Abdul Jawad, a 27-year-old truck driver, lost his life after colliding with a trailer in Qormi.

Personnel from the Civil Protection Department were immediately called to the scene at around 11:45am on Triq Ħandaq.

Police investigations are ongoing

However, Jawad was certified dead on site.

Preliminary investigations found that Jawad collided with a DAF CF85 trailer driven by a 39-year-old man from Tarxien.

Police investigations conducted jointly with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority are ongoing.

Magistrate Monica Borg Galea has appointed an inquiry.
