Man dies in three-car crash in Santa Venera

A 26-year-old man from Marsa has died following a three-vehicle crash in Santa Venera on Tuesday.

The incident happened at around 5:30pm on Triq il-Kbira San Ġużepp, in Santa Venera.

According to police, officers investigating the scene found a collision involving a Mazda Demio, a Nissan X-Trail and a Mercedes-Benz C250; the impact caused the Mazda to overturn.

A 49-year-old Canadian resident of San Ġwann was driving the Nissan, with a 43-year-old Korean passenger also from San Ġwann. The Mercedes was being driven by a 46-year-old man from Tal-Pietà. The Mazda was being driven by the deceased man, also a resident of Marsa.

Civil Protection officers and a medical team attended the scene, but the driver of the Mazda was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other people involved suffered no injuries.

Magistrate Dr Monica Borg Galea was informed and ordered an inquiry.

Police investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
