Probation for beating up Burger King employee

Youths admit to assaulting Burger King employee who tried to stop them from entering the women's toilet.

Two youths were this morning placed under a probation order after they admitted to beating a Burger King employee.

Marco Rapinett, 22 of Valletta and his 17 year-old friend from Birzebbugia were placed under a three-year probation order for having assaulted and injured Gabriella Cassar, a Burger King employee.

The incident happened on Boxing Day last year, when the two youths were at the Burger King store in Valletta, and decided to use the women's toilets.

Cassar tried to stop the youths, but was punched and injured in the process.

The two youths admitted to the charge of injuring Cassar, and apologised for their action.

Lawyer Charmaine Cherret appeared for the youths, while Inspector Pierre Micallef-Trigona prosecuted.

Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona presided.
