Moroccan woman remanded in custody

Moroccan woman who stabbed boyfriend is remanded in custody after she pleads not guilty to slightly injuring him.

An argument between a couple landed a Moroccan woman in court after she stabbed her Libyan boyfriend in his shoulder.

Yesterday, Meriam Abdusalam Mouaddea, born in Morocco but living in San Gwann, had an argument with her Libyan boyfriend. The verbal disagreement escalated into a physical argument during which Mouaddea stabbed the man in his shoulder with a knife. The accused's boyfriend was taken to hospital where doctors certified he had suffered slight injuries.

On hearing the accused plead not guilty, Magistrate Consuello Scerri Herrera remanded Mouaddea in custody.
