17-year old Libyan in critical condition

A Libyan youth is in critical condition after being hit by a bus in Tower Road, Sliema.

The incident happened yesterday evening at around 8:45pm when a bus, driven by a 51-year old from St Paul’s Bay, was on its way to Ballutta. As the bus drove past Snoopy’s Bar, it hit the Libyan youth who was allegedly crossing the street.

The Libyan youth was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He suffered fractures to the skull. His condition is critical and he is being kept at the Intensive Care Unit.

Duty Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona appointed various court experts and an onsite inquiry was held. Court experts Mario Buttigieg and Architect Valerio Schembri were also on site.

Inspector Luke Bonello is investigating.
