Armed police arrest Libyan man wanted for stabbing, inside Sliema bar

A search in Sliema by the Rapid Intervention Unit resulted in the arrest of a Libyan national who was said to be armed and dangerous, after having been involved in a stabbing in St Paul's Bay.

Armed police arrested the man in the establishment Tony's Bar, on the Sliema ferries.

The man is believed to have been involved in the stabbing of a 30-year-old Palestinian man and a 46-year-old Egyptian man in St Paul’s Bay on 12 April, 2014. The incident happened at around 10:45pm in a bar in Triq il-Mazzola, St Paul’s Bay, when the suspect was said to have entered the bar and stabbed the two men. The men suffered grievous injuries.
