Updated | Roof in Gzira house partly collapses, worker in critical condition

A 57-year-old Lebanese national was injured in a construction accident in Gzira, after parts of a roof collapsed.

The accident happened in a house in Triq il-Flotta, shortly before noon. The man, who resides in Mosta, was carrying out renovation works when ceiling slabs gave in.

The man was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital. Although the man's condition was initially reported as stable, it has since worsened and he is now in critical condition.
