The Armed Forces of Malta together with a medical team from Mater Dei Hospital and the police were this afternoon called to assist in the search for a missing diver but luckily this turned out to a false alarm after the diver was found shortly after by other divers.

The alarm was raised after a group of divers emerged following a dive in the spot famous for its crystal blue waters, caves and the Um El Faroud shipwreck and realised that one diver was missing.

The divers immediately called for assistance, however a few minutes later the diver was found safe and sound at a little distance from where the other divers emerged.

The diver found himself in difficulty while emerging, however he successfully made it to the shore in a different spot.
