Zabbar resident crashes into shop façade

A 27-year-old man was grievously injured in a traffic accident last night in Triq is-Santwarju, Haz-Zabbar.

The man, a resident of the same locality, lost control of his Honda Civic and crashed into a shop. It is understood that the man could have felt unwell at the wheel.

The accident happened at 7pm last night when man was driving his car along Tumas Dingli Street, crashed his car and ended up against a shop in Triq is-Santwarju.

Luckily, there were no pedestrians or other cars at the time.

Several people who saw the accident happen assisted the driver and pulled him out of the car, fearing it would catch fire as smoke started coming out of the car.

The District Police, led by Inspector Josric Mifsud and sergeant Gino Caruana are investigating the accident.
