Man grievously injured in garage fire

A 46-year-old-man from Zabbar was grievously injured yesterday afternoon after flames engulfed a garage.

The incident took place Triq Santa Duminka when a car caught fire in a garage. The car’s owner had tried to extinguish the flames himself, injuring himself in the process.

The man was taken to Mater Dei hospital for medical treatment, where it was later declared that he was suffering from grievous injuries.

The Civil Protection department were called on the scene to put out the flames.

Police investigations are still underway.
