Two youths found hidden in bar following suspected break-in

Two youths aged 16 and 17 respectively arrested by police after anonymous phone call alerted police to break-in at St Paul's Bay bar

Two St Paul’s Bay youths were arrested last night after being found hidden in a bar believed to have just been broken into.

An anonymous phone call made at 3am to the Qawra police station had alerted police to the possible break-in on Triq il-Halel, St Paul’s Bay.

Shortly after, police arrived on scene and found broken glass on the pavement outside the bar. A 17-year-old hidden in the bar subsequently gave himself up after police entered the bar. Shortly after, another youth, aged 16, was found hidden at the back at the bar.

Nothing was stolen from the bar, police said.

The youths were remanded in custody pending further investigations.
