Three arrested in police drug operation

The police have arrested three men after finding them in possession of drugs

The police have arrested two men from Serbia and another from North Macedonia after finding them in possession of drugs.

The police made the arrest following a report made on Sunday of grievous injuries at St. Julian's Police Station by a 32-year-old Albanian man.

On Wednesday, a police investigation resulted in the arrest of two Serbian men, ages 39 and 31. When arrested, and searched they were found to be possession of substances suspected to be cannabis grass, cocaine and a brass knuckle. 

On Thursday, a search was then conducted at the suspect's residence in Msida, where St. Julian's Police found substances suspected to be cannabis grass and cannabis resin. 

A 42-year-old Macedonian who arrived at the residence was also arrested. Further searches on the man resulted in the finding of substances suspected to be cannabis grass, cannabis resin, cocaine and MDMA.

A Magisterial Inquiry was appointed to the case. Police investigations are still on going, and the men are expected to be arraigned in Court in the upcoming days.
