12th and 10th districts record highest number of uncollected voting documents

By midnight on Thursday, 8,372 voting documents remained uncollected – around 2.4% of all eligible votes – on par with 2013 when 2% of voting documents were uncollected.

The 12th district, comprised of St Paul’s Bay, Mellieha and parts of Naxxar, had the highest number of uncollected voting documents – 1,634.  

The second highest number of uncollected documents was in the 10th district, comprised of Sliema, St Julian’s, Pembroke, Gzira and parts of Naxxar, where documents remained uncollected.

884 did not collect their voting document in Gozo.

Both major political parties had been urging all eligible voters – 341,857 – to collect the voting document throughout their campaigns and up until the very last minutes before midnight on Thursday.

Polling booths open at 7am on Saturday and close at 10pm, with vote counting set to start at 10am on Sunday.
