Metsola urges people to go out and vote
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola says that the actions people take on 30 May will determine Malta's next five years and beyond
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola addressed a PN event in Swieqi where she spoke of the importance of getting out the vote in the next election.
Metsola thanked PN Leader Alex Borg for reviving the enthusiasm within the PN.
She stressed that the choice voters have on 30 May will determine the next five years and beyond and that “every vote will give a direction.”
Metsola rehashed some of the party’s proposals to fix some of the country’s worst problems, such as summertime power cuts, gridlock traffic, and a lack of security.
“Malta needs parks full of trees, not gravel and cement,” she joked.
She insisted that such solutions are indeed possible, urging people not to listen to those who keep insisting that a better way is impossible.
“Politics is not a football match of us versus them or blue against red,” Metsola told those present, “but a way for a single people to plot the future of this country.”
She noted that the first round of voting starts on Saturday for early voters, urging people to remember that their votes determine one’s everyday life.
“Encourage everyone you know to fulfil their civic duty to choose where they want this country to go.”
