Banners belonging to ADPD that were strung up in Marsaskala were removed by an unknown individual or individuals overnight, candidate Brian Decelis said on Tuesday.

The banners with the party’s election campaign slogan Ilkoll were strung up on the outer fence of the playing field along Triq ix-Xatt, metres away from a Labour Party billboard.

Decelis told MaltaToday the banners were affixed at the beginning of May and went missing overnight. The party will be filing a police report.

The incident comes a day after similar banners belonging to Momentum were stolen from Marsaskala and St Julian’s.

Just before the election campaign kicked off, banners belonging to Momentum had been removed by Cleansing Department workers and returned shortly afterwards.

During an election campaign, political parties and candidates are allowed to place billboards and banners advertising their political message in public spaces.

ADPD and Momentum, the minnows of Maltese politics, are fielding candidates in all electoral districts.
