Corpse recovered from sea in M'Scala

Police are investigating the death of a 69 year-old woman from Marsa, who's corpse was recovered from the sea off Marsascala early this morning.

The body was spotted at sunrise by a boatsman who immediately informed the authorities. An AFM patrol boat recovered the body and brought it to shore where a Magesterial inquiry was ordered.

According to the police, the corpse which was not in a state of decomposition, had no exterior signs of a violent death.

The body was taken to Mater Dei hospital mortuary where an autopsy is expected in the coming hours.
