UHM industrial dispute with health ministry

The UHM’s section for healthcare has registered an industrial dispute with the health ministry for not honouring an agreement on the employment of occupational therapists. The union said it will issue directives on Monday 13 June.

Pending matters include a lack of uniforms, a problem that has been going on for the past four years; and the lack of new occupational therapists being employed at lower and higher grades.

“This situation is putting more pressure on occupational therapists at Mater Dei, St Vincent de Paule, and Karin grech hospitals where they are expcted to do more work than they should,” the union said.
