Compilation of evidence stolen from Law Courts

Government confirms that sensitive material in the compilation of evidence in a drug trafficking case has gone missing.

Sunday newspaper Illum reports that court evidence produced in pre-trial stage has vanished from Magistrate Audrey Demicoli’s courtroom.

The case is about Emanuel Magri, from Luqa, charged for trafficking half a kilo of heroin and for trying to bribe Police Inspector Norbert Ciappara.

Speaking to MaltaToday, the Justice Ministry confirmed that the compilation of evidence was stolen over nine months ago. The case was then reported to the Police.
