Enemalta rebrands, announces nine-year plan
Among other projects, the Enemalta CEO said that by next June, Siġġiewi and Naxxar will have their brand new distribution centres, as these projects are well underway
Enemalta has launched its new logo in a rebranding exercise, as the company's nine-year plan was explained on Thursday.
In a press conference at the Enemalta Magħtab Terminal Station in Naxxar, Enemalta CEO Ryan Fava gave an overview of the company’s extensive ongoing works.
Fava explained that after the electricity distribution problems Malta experienced in 2023, Enemalta has overseen a large number of projects aimed at upgrading the distribution network.
Among other projects, the Enemalta CEO said that by next June, Siġġiewi and Naxxar will have their brand new distribution centres, as these projects are well underway.
Fava also spoke of the company’s nine-year plan, which includes the construction of 12 new distribution centres across Malta, in locations such as Luqa, Mellieħa, Rabat, and Pembroke.
Other distribution centres will be constructed to support locations such as the Freeport and airport.
From her end, Energy Minister Miriam Dalli said that Enemalta’s plan is part of the government’s plan to ensure that Malta is future proof.
When it comes to Gozo, Dalli said that the island’s energy needs will be given the same priority as Malta. In fact, a new 132kV link between Malta and Gozo is also in the works.
She too spoke of 2023 as a major challenge, but said that it served to accelerate the expenditure in the country’s energy infrastructure.
Dalli reminded that the massive capital investment is being undertaken in a scenario where the price of energy is being kept low for families and businesses.
