Two hospitalised after separate traffic accidents

A 54-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy were taken to Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday following two separate traffic accidents.

The first accident happened in Triq l-Isperanza, Mosta at around 5pm. Preliminary studies showed a collision between a Niu motorcycle driven by the 54-year-old woman and a Jeep driven by a 73-year-old man, both residents of the locality.

The second accident took place at around the same time, in Triq il-Kapuccini, Żabbar. The police said a crash happened between a scooter driven by the 15-year-old boy residing in Żurrieq and a Mazda driven by a 24-year-old man from Żabbar. 

Medical teams aided the victims before they were taken to hospital.

The woman and the boy were later confirmed to be suffering greivous injuries.

Police investigations are currently ongoing.
